1912 License

original license.jpg - 770 K

This is a copy of the original license issued to Doc Herrold in 1912. The license appears to read that it is to be used for communication with ships and land stations but in the first section there is a interesting clause that states "Or for the purpose of conducting experiments for the development of the science of radio communication or the apparatus pertaining thereto, to carry on special tests, using any amount of power, or any wavelengths, at such hours and under such conditions as will insure the least interference with the sending or reciept of commercial or government radiograms, of distress signals or radiograms, or with the work of other stations, the purpose of the station being designatedby the classification at the head of this license"

I kinda like the "any power or wavelength" part of this.
